On site training with PDH Fork Lift Training Services

The Health and Safety Commission Approved Code of Practice for rider operated lift trucks is directed at the basic training of all employees whose employment after 1st April 1989 includes for the first time the operation of lift trucks. However, to comply with their duties under the Health and Safety at Work act 1974 (section 2) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (Regulation 9) employers must ensure that all operators, both new and existing, are adequately trained and when necessary provide for their additional or refresher training.

From this reference to the ACOP it is clear that the Health and Safety Executive require the same standard of training for all operators and regard training as the route to achieving this.

All of the courses that we provide include theoretical and practical training and trainees are given tests on both. On successful completion of training, trainees/employers are issued with laminated certificates of basic training and an identity card in a plastic wallet which show that adequate training has been supplied. Written reports are also supplied with all original test papers so that the employer can place these in the trainees personnel file for future reference.
